The Good Design Debate

It’s inevitable that product design will involve trade-offs and compromises, but does waste and product sustainability really get into the product brief and perhaps people are more willing to change then we think? We’ve started off the debate on what good design is and how we get there with thoughts from a few on our Advisory Panel.

  • Frank O’Connor founder of the EcoDesign Centre, Cardiff and now anois, tackles the whole question of what is good design.
  • Mark Shayler from eco-design consultancy Ape asks us to keep an open mind about what is good packaging.
  • Jonathan Chapman Professor of Sustainable Design in the School of Art, Design & Media at the University of Brighton, questions how we can design out the need to consume, starting with fashion.
